Peoples FA Cup

Well our trip to Manchester to play in the finals didn’t quite go to plan. In a very close first game we lost 1-0 to Kicks, although we had a lot of possession we could not get the ball past an on form Kicks goalkeeper. Our second game saw us beat Eastleigh FC 3-1, once again in a very close contest. Our final game against the Croydon Casuals meant we had to go for the win, unfortunately pushing forward we conceded a goal on a break away and then a very efficient Croydon side finished us off with a second goal. The quality of the finalists was impressive and playing in the small 5 a side enclosed pitches made for intense, relentless 15 minute games. Definitely a good learning experience and we look forward to competing in next years tournament ┬áif it takes place.

At least we got close to the FA Cups…
